New
cathedrals.
Old craft.

We are the first automated stone factory. We program the robots, we carve the marble, we build the software stack. And we are hiring the team that will define what beautiful buildings look like for the next five hundred years.

The mission

Every material used in construction has been industrialised — except stone.
Gondor is fixing that.

Steel, glass, concrete, timber — every structural material is made in automated factories. Ornamental stone is still carved by hand the way it was in the Renaissance.

We build the robots, write the software that tells them how to sculpt, and run the Stamford workshop where each piece is finished by craftspeople. 95% machine, 5% hand. Both halves matter.

The mission is in the name. Gondor translates as Stone Land.

Open roles

Three teams. One workshop.

Principles

What we say out loud.

  1. 01Beauty is a moral question.
  2. 02Automate the boring 95%. Honour the remaining 5%.
  3. 03Ship only what you would want to stand under.
  4. 04Read more books than the market tells you to.

How we work

Four beliefs.

Permanence

We are building for the next 500 years, not the next quarter. Decisions are weighed against centuries.

Craft

Robots do the work of mass; hands do the work of meaning. We refuse to lose either.

Honesty of material

Stone is stone. We do not pretend, simulate, or plate. What leaves the workshop is the thing itself.

Patience

The Renaissance took two hundred years. We are not in a hurry to do it poorly.

Our home

Stamford.
And London.

The factory is in Stamford, a small stone-built town in Lincolnshire with a thousand-year masonry tradition. It is where we keep the robots, the marble, and the people who finish each piece by hand.

The software and commercial teams work out of our London office, a two-hour train from the workshop. We visit often; the stone stays put.

Questions

The short answers.

  • Our factory is in Stamford, UK — a small stone-built town in Lincolnshire with a long masonry tradition. We also have an office in London for the software and commercial teams.

  • Yes, for workshop and on-site robotics roles. We help with paperwork, housing search, and the first month.

  • Software roles are remote-friendly across UK and European timezones, with regular time in the London office. Robotics and workshop roles are in Stamford by necessity — stone is heavy.

  • A call with a founder, a paid work trial sized to your life (usually a week), a workshop visit if geography allows, and a decision within ten days of the trial.

  • Write to join@gondorindustries.com. If you would have been a good hire at any of the seed companies we admire, we would like to hear from you.

  • Entirely. The mission is in the name. Gondor translates as stone land. We are going to build beautiful buildings again.
