Master Stone Sculptor
Machines get us 80% of the way. The last 20% — the undercuts, the eye of a figure, the weathered edges that make a piece feel alive — is still hand work. We are looking for a sculptor who can take what the robots leave and finish it to museum quality.
This is a senior, hands-on role. You will also be teaching the software and robotics teams what the craft actually demands, so the machines can eventually do more of it themselves.
What you'll do
- Finish busts, architectural elements, and sculptures to commissioned quality
- Define and maintain our quality standards across every piece that leaves the workshop
- Collaborate daily with the robotics team to close the gap between machine work and hand work
- Train and mentor the rest of the workshop team
What we're looking for
- At least ten years of classical stone carving experience (marble, limestone, travertine)
- A portfolio of completed pieces you are proud of
- Patience to work with a team of engineers who are asking questions you may find obvious
- Calm in the workshop and generous with knowledge
What we offer
- A workshop stocked with quality tools, quality stone, and quality people
- Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses tied to commissioned projects
- A long horizon — we are building a multi-decade company
